"Ugly charm" cited in new wacky universe

Author/Illustrator Wolfgang Niesielski has just released A PARALLEL UNIVERSE, an alternate reality he created using cartoon caricatures from
another world.
"It's for people willing to delve into the unusual and explore the wondrous humour of the imagination," says Niesielski.
Ever since Gary Larson left the scene, and before him Kliban and others, Niesielski has felt there's been a void in the type of wacky, offbeat
humour he loves. Instead of sweet and charming characters, Niesielski's cartoons have a slighty crude, raw appeal, and ugly charm.
Niesielski lived in East Germany until he was thirteen. There he discovered humor, and how he could use it as a defense mechanism to cope with a
bleak life-style. His talent became obvious while he doodled at his mother's kitchen table and made cartoon strips for classmates.
He calls A PARALLEL UNIVERSE a situation of "John Malkovich meets Gary
Larson" and warns that in some sections, the reader will enter a world no one should visit without a proper sanity check.
